Give Help
Could your school help us?
Your school could help us make a real difference in the local community
We are very grateful for the donations we receive from so many local schools. Our Give Help page includes details of how to help and any special appeals, but we also have a Schools Coordinator who is ready to help you with ideas for fund raising.
Here are some ideas:
- Summer Holiday Collection – there is an increased need over the school summer holidays. Could you start a collection now to add to our stocks over the time when children are not receiving school meals?
- Foodbank Fridays – pupils are encouraged to bring in a tin every Friday.
- House competitions – which house can collect the most.
- Splitting up the shopping list between classes so each class has one or two items to concentrate on.
It is ideal if someone from your school can drop the collection off at the warehouse in Barcombe Avenue, (maybe bringing a couple of pupils with them so they can see where it ends up), but if that is impossible we can arrange for one of our drivers to collect from your school.
We can come to your school to give presentations at assembly about the foodbank.
Small groups of pupils can come with their teacher and visit the warehouse. They will be shown around, told about how the foodbank works and will then be given a small job to help with. Visits last 45 minutes to one hour.
We can attend any special event or evening activity that you would like to put on.
If you have any action groups in your school we would be particularly happy to liaise with them for the benefit of the Foodbank.
Please email our Schools Coordinator on [email protected] with any requests or ideas you have.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you to all the schools who support us:
